Stay at Home Dads Participate in Eastside Westside Music Together

There are plenty of music classes around NYC, but one music class that is superior is Eastside Westside Music Together. They offer FREE trial classes at many locations in NYC and have locations out on Long Island as well. What a workout! This unique musical experience was so much fun for everyone. We danced, played instruments, rocked around the room, played with scarves (pictured) and used our awful voices to sing to our kids.

One dad said it was a "Fantastic afternoon, both dad and boy exhausted from singing and busting dance moves.” Another dad commented thay "this was a great class, I had to buy a couple of those little eggs (shakers) for my daughter so she can keep practicing/playing the "maracas" at home...she loves those shakers!"

What makes this music class so special is their music. They use the acoustic guitar for several songs and the music is extremely "catchy." Their music even extends into your home - I play their musical CD at home so I can practice the songs & dance moves with my son. The other unique thing about this company is their songs and program are research based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum, that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

A bunch of dads in our group recently took a trial together and this is what our instructor Deanna said... "What a pleasure it was to lead you all in some fun music-making! It was just great to see all you dads dancing, singing, and engaging with your little ones. In all my years of teaching, I’ve never done a demo for JUST dads, and it was a delight...Again, teaching that demo will go down as a very memorable highlight in my teaching career."
