Heading to Omaha In Search of Steak & Dads

About three months ago, I posted a blog entry because I had discovered (and was surprised to learn) that there is an Annual At-Home Dads Convention . Have bags, will travel! I have decided to book my flight & make the 1,400 mile trek to Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, October 10, 2009. The Convention is presented by the National At-Home Dad Network, Daddyshome, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to bringing at-home dads together.

All of the NYC At-Home Dads are probably wondering what happens at this type of convention. I am wondering the same thing because I have never attended the convention before or been to Omaha for that matter. I am on a quest for a good steak dinner!

For me, the convention presents an awesome opportunity to connect with other dads in similar situations from across the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, I have volunteered to facilitate, what hopes to be a meaningful discussion, on "achieving a successful at-home-dads group." The dads at the convention have lined up an entire day of facilitated discussions, guest speakers, and activities.

For the curious dads, I have highlighted a few of the sessions below:
